Position description

We are looking for a PhD-level biotechnology professional with demonstrated ability to drive and implement scientific communications strategy and expertise in fields such as prenatal screening, oncology, molecular diagnostics, genetics/genomics, research, and the biology of nucleic acids. As our Director, Medical Communications you will be a highly skilled communicator, functioning well in multidisciplinary teams with demonstrated success developing cross-disciplinary working relationships with key opinion leaders, as well as internal and external stakeholders. You will have a proven ability to lead teams in producing quality documents in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and be knowledgeable in all aspects of publication.


  • Goals: Effectively and efficiently communicate the impact of Research and Development findings and clinical trial results to the community and support product development and commercialization, while maintaining the highest level of scientific and medical ethics
  • Develop slide decks based on clinical data and published literature to support medical science liaison teams
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to accurately report/publish clinical studies and to ensure aligned messaging to support product launch and later-stage life cycle product
  • Identify, develop and maintain relationships with key KOLs for ongoing clinical trials and publications
  • Identified novel avenues for research, IP, and eventual product development
  • Contribute (creatively and scientifically) to and confirm accuracy of marketing materials


  • Plan and manage clinical studies through academic/clinical collaborators
  • Provide medical/scientific input and drive/contribute to the creation of relevant clinical documents required for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of clinical trials
  • Review work produced by project site teams and ensure that studies are completed on time and within budget; monitor recruitment progress
  • Manage collaborative relationships with clinical investigators to ensure timely execution of clinical studies
  • Manage fiscal performance of the studies and maintain close control of study costs
  • Work independently while leading the study teams and directing the work of team members
  • Assist in protocol development and IRB submission

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 5 years of direct experience in clinical research in pharma/biotech or academic settings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical trial components and support functions
  • Knowledge of FDA and ICH regulations regarding Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • CRO, contract management, and budgetary experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and both written and oral communication skills
