QC & Operations Analyst

Position description

We run one of the largest genome centers in the country and with that comes the necessity to maintain the quality of our testing. We are looking to hire a QC & Operations Analyst to join our growing Data Science team within Late Stage R&D.

What you'll do

  • Develop reports for Operations and Science groups using BI tools
  • Analyze and report on analytical quality measures
  • Assist in the design and analysis of product and platform validations
  • Field ad hoc requests for data analytics

About you

  • Minimum BS or BA degree in biology, chemistry or physics with 2-5 years of experience performing lab analytics within the biotech industry or PhD with 0-2 years of experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistics.  You can run a power analysis and design experiments with appropriate controls
  • An advanced understanding of biochemistry and genetics.  You can troubleshoot a PCR and read a sequencing pileup
  • Experience with SQL (preferably postgresql)
  • Familiarity with Python (prefered) or R

Preferred skills

  • Experience with shell scripting
  • Familiarity with git for version control
  • Experience using Looker for business analytics
  • Experience working in quality control
