Position description

As a Technical Recruiter at Counsyl, you're like an NFL scout; you know what outstanding candidates look like and you know how to represent yourself when approaching them. You’re comfortable with managing the overall hiring process from sourcing, qualifying, interviewing and closing candidates to help us build out our organization.

We're looking for a persistent hunter with a strong grasp of engineering hiring and a passion for learning. You've hired JS ninjas, elusive tech ops professionals and everything in between. You're familiar with the talent market for the Bay Area and know the difference between a Python shop and a Ruby shop; and why that matters.

What You'll Do

  • Hire the very best technical professionals for Counsyl’s Product Development and Science teams
  • Use your highly-honed searching and sourcing tactics to uncover the best candidates from all corners of the web
  • Work with hiring managers to define new roles, conduct searches, evaluate and close candidates
  • Be on the front lines pitching recruits and being the face of Counsyl at external events
  • Become a power user of our applicant tracking software (ATS)
  • Screen and qualify prospective candidates for technical and cultural fit

About You

  • 4+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience with at least one year in house, preferably at a pre-IPO company
  • You’re passionate about working in tech but you are intrigued to learn about genomics and how technology can impact healthcare
  • You write crisply and speak persuasively - grammatical errors annoy you
  • You’re incredibly fast at Googling, are a power user of Linkedin, stay current with the newest sourcing tools and tactics (GitHub, StackOverflow, etc.)
  • We all know this job is hard - but you don’t give up when the going gets tough. Instead you buckle down and look for creative solutions
  • You have an expert knowledge of Google Docs and Mac OS X, and consider it funny that someone would even ask (doesn't everyone know Google Docs?)
  • You can tell the difference between a “great candidate” and the “right candidate for the job”
  • You think robots are awesome - and robots that save lives, even better!
  • Bonus points if you have experience recruiting in the genomics or health tech industries
